AEO Spotlight Launches Its Public Developer API in Beta
Developers can now access AEO Spotlight programmatically with scoped API keys, async jobs, and webhooks, starting with a public beta of the platform's REST API.
Published July 15, 2026 · Adam Rock
AEO Spotlight opened its public developer API in beta. The API gives teams programmatic access to the platform's monitoring data and content tools, using scoped API keys instead of shared account credentials.
What the API Covers
The API exposes the platform's core data: monitoring queries, citations, visibility gaps, content opportunities, and competitors. Teams can run queries, detect gaps, generate content briefs and articles, and publish content through the API.
Long-running operations run as async jobs. An API call returns a job ID and the platform delivers a completion webhook when the work is done, so integrations do not have to poll.
Scoped and Revocable Keys
API keys are scoped by permission level, read, read/write, or publish, and can be revoked at any time. Each key has its own rate limit and optional daily credit ceiling. Every action is recorded in an immutable audit trail, so machine activity is fully traceable.
The beta is open now. Documentation is available at aeospotlight.com/developers.
