AEO Spotlight Rebuilds Content Studio Around the Full Content-to-Citation Lifecycle
Content Studio now manages content through its full lifecycle, from detecting a visibility gap to being cited by AI, with an Opportunity Workspace, honest visibility gaps, and Suggested Topics that keep the content pipeline full.

AEO Spotlight rolled out a major update to Content Studio that turns content for AI visibility into a managed, end-to-end lifecycle, from the moment a visibility gap is detected to the day AI actually cites the finished article.
## A Real Lifecycle, Not Just a To-Do List
Every piece of content now moves through a clear set of states: not started, in progress, published and monitored for AI citation, cited by AI, or stale. Publishing is no longer the end of the journey. Content that stays uncited for 30 days is flagged for a refresh, never automatically duplicated, so teams stop writing the same article twice and instead keep improving what already exists.
## The Opportunity Workspace
Content Studio now opens on an Opportunity Workspace with three views. The Overview shows KPIs plus a pipeline funnel and gap-tier and priority charts that filter the list on click. The Pipeline view is a drag-and-drop board where pieces move between stages. The grouped Table supports bulk actions such as generating briefs and content, publishing, changing status, and exporting CSV, all grouped by topic cluster, gap type, state, or priority.
## Search Intelligence Stays Honest
Visibility gaps across Search Intelligence now show the real state of each query. A query that already has published content is no longer presented as a request to create another article; it shows its live article and its monitoring status, and gaps AI has already answered are marked resolved. Clicking a gap opens its matching opportunity in Content Studio.
## Suggested Topics Keep the Pipeline Full
Content Studio now helps teams discover genuinely new content ideas. It mines the pages and sources AI is already citing for a brand, competitor and third-party pages and never the brand's own pages, and it suggests new monitoring queries. Each idea lands in a reviewable Suggested Topics list; approving one adds a Content Studio opportunity and its monitoring query, and dismissing one keeps it from coming back. Discovery runs on demand and on a capped daily schedule, so the content queue never runs dry without repeating the same suggestions.
AEO Spotlight continues to help brands move from being invisible in AI answers to being consistently cited.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the content states in Content Studio?
Every piece moves from not started to in progress, published and monitored for AI citation, cited by AI, or stale (published but uncited for 30+ days and flagged for refresh).
What is Suggested Topics?
A reviewable list of content ideas discovered from the pages AI cites for your brand, from competitor and third-party pages and from suggested monitoring queries. Approve an idea to add a Content Studio opportunity, or dismiss it to keep it from returning.
Does the update create duplicate content?
No. Published content is never auto-duplicated; content that stays uncited is flagged for optimization or a deliberate refresh instead.
